Parent Slot Party Donation
We appreciate you donating your time and energy this year by sponsoring a Slot Party for Montclair. A Slot Party is an event YOU host for the Montclair community as part of fundraising efforts. People sign up by buying a slot to attend your party. The cost to participate varies based on the party. 100% of the funds raised go to the Montclair PTO.
Slot Parties will be available for signup at Hawk-A-Palooza at Montclair on January 30th. This is a free event open to all Montclair students and families (and Staff). Montclair Staff are also being asked to host Parties so all parties will be promoted side-by-side at the same time. Some slots in the staff parties (which are for students) will be held for raffle winners and some slots will be sold off. If your party is for students or families, please consider if you would like to hold some of your slots as raffle slots.
If we can assist with your Slot Party donation in any way, or if you prefer to submit or discuss your party via email, please contact Keri at vp@montclairpto.org. If you are able to submit your donation prior to winter break that would greatly assist us with planning. This is another great way we can raise funds to support all the programs the PTO funds at Montclair.
Slot Party FAQs
Q. Who pays for the Slot Party? The party host (you). Your efforts to organize and host the party are your donation to Montclair. Consider co-hosting a party with one or more individuals to share labor and offset costs. Many Slot Parties can be done with very little expense.
Q. How many guests should attend my Slot Party? The number of guests depends on what you are going to do and how much space you have. Use this information to determine the maximum number of slots available for the party you are hosting.
Q. How much do I charge for each slot? Consider what you are offering at the party and set the cost appropriately. All slots should be a minimum of $15.
Q. When do I throw my Slot Party? You can host parties anytime! They can be indoor, outdoor, at night, in the morning. However, once a date is set it cannot be changed. All events should be held by June 30th, 2026.
Q. Do the people coming to the party need to bring anything? Usually, everything is included. However, if there is anything you will not supply, we can put a "prerequisite" on the party. For example, if you plan a day of boating, you can say a life vest is a prerequisite (bring your own life vest). If you are hosting a hiking trip, you can give guidance on what people should wear and bring.
Q. Is the Auction Slot Party tax-deductible? Yes, it is, up to the fullest extent allowed by the Internal Revenue Service and based on what you have contributed. For more advice, please consult a tax professional.
Q. What kind of party can I host? Anything you, your friends, or your family likes to do!
